The course starts with an introduction to the legal aspects of health and safety before covering the basics of risk assessment and safe working practices. It then goes into detail to cover the most common hazards encountered in construction environments from Working at Height and Respiratory Hazards to electrical and chemical hazards.
The course starts by setting the scene with regards why good health and safety is important not only for you, but for everyone working in a construction environment
The next modules cover the legislation that underpins Health and Safety and the responsibilities of both employees and employers in maintaining a safe working environment
In these modules you will look at Risk Assessments and Method Statements as well as delving into the most common risks associated with construction including: Working at Height, Manual Handling & Noise and Vibration
Finally you will explore the consequences of failing to adhere to Health and Safety regulations, from injury and fatality to the legal ramifications when things go wrong
Now it's time to prepare for the course assessment and the CITB's mandatory touch screen test that you will need to complete following this course to apply for your CSCS card.
